Enjoy summer with these family activities

Sometimes, it just takes a little inspiration, creativity and a few helpful instructions to rev up family fun. Our counselors of The Lower and Upper Schools regularly research and share great ideas for building healthy, family relationships. Their latest roundup stands to help everyone have a grand time during the upcoming summer months.

Make a kite. And did someone say add bling?! Why yes, Stacee Gillelen, founder of Dragonfly Designs, sure did. She provides these instructions

Build THE BEST blanket fort. There’s a reason THE BEST is in capital letters. PrettyProvidence.com provides these instructions

Lamping. If you’ve built the best blanket fort, maybe it’s time for living room camping!  (Here’s a secret: when you add a “G,” that’s “Glamping,” which moms often appreciate.)

Color together. More than 400 pages of original artwork is free for download from Ministry-to-Children.com.

Be a rock star. Paint rocks and hide them around the neighborhood for others to find and keep — and share. Check it out:

Make a Tree of Gratitude. Here’s an activity that is festive, educational and character-building.

For the comic book lovers. Free templates to help everyone tell great stories with pictures.

Work out as a family. Get some fresh air by taking a walk. Line up everyone for a spin on the indoor bike. Many fitness centers are offering free trials to acess their libraies of video workouts. Search social media networks, such as Facebook and Instagram for videos. And don’t forget to add in some stretching!
