Cherry Hills Christian School is implementing a new tool to support our commitment to knowing each of our students and their unique academic needs.
The Northwest Evaluation Association’s Measure of Academic Progress Growth, commonly referred to as MAP Growth testing, will be implemented starting with the 2020-21 academic year. Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 will take this computer-adaptive exam two to three times each schol year, giving their teachers and parents a good look at their progress in math, reading, language usage and science. With this consistency of data collection, CHC’s Faculty also will have accurate and actionable evidence that helps target their instruction for individual students and entire classes.
After each MAP Growth test, results will be delivered in the form of easily dissected scores reflecting the student’s academic knowledge, skills and abilities. These scores are like marking height on a growth chart. They give teachers, students and parents a wealth of information about academic growth over time and also the specific subject areas where students would benefit from supplemental instruction.
