Job Opening: Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager contributes to the creation of a flourishing culture by embracing and embodying the vision and strategy for staff developed by the CHC Leadership. The Human Resources Manager designs and executes systems, processes, logistics, reports and resources that further that vision and direction by operationally resourcing the hiring and transition of CHC staff. He / She supports meaningful staff events; internal communication.

Supervisor: Director of Business Operations & Finance

Position Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Hours Per week: 32

Salary range: $30,000 – $46,500

Benefits: Eligible Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b), Paid Vacation and Sick Leave

Demonstrate Commitment to Cherry Hills Christian School

  • Be an active, engaged member of the school community
  • Attend and serve at school-wide, all-hands-on-deck events (Examples: Meet & Greet, Back to School Night, Open Houses, etc.)

Oversee an Effective, Efficient Hiring Process

  • Partner with Head of School to streamline the overall process of hiring
  • Partner with the Directors to design candidate interview schedules for maximum impact
  • Ensure candidates complete all relevant hiring documents for CHC
  • Confirm distribution of interview packets and candidate information prior to interviews
  • Review interview folders and assist Head of School in preparation of candidate’s final interview
  • Obtain and file hiring documents and debriefs for candidates upon completion of interview process

Manage Excellent Pre-Employment Processes That Are Thorough, Timely and Honoring  

  • Ensure hiring Director submits a minimum of two reference forms (one direct supervisor, one peer, and/or one personal) for each candidate
  • Review references for each candidate; flag concerns, review concerns with the Head of School
  • Prepare employee offer letters for the Head of School to review
  • Ensure verification forms and background checks completed prior to start
  • Flag any background check concerns for review with Head of School
  • Ensure new hires receive an offer letter and role description
  • Confirm formal acceptance is received in writing or e-signature
  • Work with help desk and technology department to confirm account setup, phone and email list requirements. Coordinate creation of mailbox tag and addition to the phone list with Receptionist.

Coordinate a New Employee Onboarding Experience (NEO) for Each New Staff Member  

  • Partner with the Head of School and Directors to plan and execute a positive onboarding experience
  • Team with Directors to communicate each new hire’s NEO schedule prior to start
  • Lead the execution of all NEO logistics responsibilities

Ensure Thorough, Timely Off-Boarding and Exiting Practices for All Staff  

  • Obtain, process and file a resignation letter for each exiting staff member
  • Complete exit interviews for all exiting staff
  • Provide termination information to payroll and other departments in a timely manner
  • Ensure staff resources are returned and security measures enforced for each exiting staff

Promote Staff Development Support

  • Ensure all staff have a current (and refreshed) role description on an annual basis
  • Work with Directors to complete and submit evaluations in a timely, thorough manner
  • Partner with the Curriculum Coordinator to support Staff Induction Program
  • Coordinate CPR recertification with outside vendor and Directors
  • Support teaching staff through the ACSI Certification/Recertification process
  • Remind staff when Colorado Teaching Licenses are due to renew

Provide Human Resources/Benefits Support

  • Manage Workers’ Comp claims and reporting
  • Manage short-term and long-term disability claims
  • Manage FMLA processes
  • Coordinate and provide support for the Open Enrollment process
  • Process benefits invoices in AvidXchange ensuring accurate coding and billing (coverages and participants)
  • Manage COBRA processes in timely, thorough, accurate manner
  • Manage the annual policies renewal with staff
  • Advise on Employee Handbook policy issues and compliance

Assist in the Budget Process

  • Support the Head of School and the Director of Business Operations & Finance in yearly budget creation
  • Support the Head of School and the Director of Business Operations & Finance in staffing design and execution
  • Forecast budget variances in areas of oversight and advise Director of Business Operations & Finance in a timely manner with regard to potential issues or areas of concern

Execute the Logistics of the Annual Compensation Adjustment Process

  • Coordinate compensation adjustment process with the Head of School, Director of Business Operations & Finance and Payroll
  • Prepare all tools and resources for the compensation adjustment process
  • Prepare salary letters for each employee
  • Ensure accuracy of benefit changes during the year and through the open enrollment process
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure staff changes and salary adjustments are processed with 100% accuracy

Execute Logistics of Annual Staff Surveys

  • Coordinate logistics of the annual staff surveys and report results to the Head of School
  • Schedule annual survey Executive Debrief with Academic Leadership Team

Support Effective Internal Communications

  • Manage and organize OneDrive for efficiency and proper document storage
  • Support school-wide communications as required

Support Mission Volunteer Team

  • Background check Mission Volunteers as required
  • Support CHC Mission Teams as needed

Assist in Document Creation for Human Resource Initiatives including but Not Limited to the Following:

  • Assist as required with performance evaluation templates and resources
  • Assist with role description template creation
  • Partner with payroll to produce overtime reports
  • Partner with payroll to produce vacation reports
  • Assist in managing data and generating other reports as requested

Ensure Accurate, Timely Response to Communication Requests (Phone or Email)

  • Manage email, voicemail and communication requests in a timely, thorough manner
  • Build trust by maintaining confidence of information
  • Respond to all communication with professionalism, discretion and service orientation

Support the Annual Audit Process

  • Submit requested audit work papers as required
  • Field questions from audit staff (iff applicable)

Relationships

Director of Business Operations & Finance: The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the Director of Business Operations & Finance. The Director of Business Operations & Finance oversees Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources. The Human Resources Manager is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to his/her supervisor while striving for a healthy Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth and unity.

Head of School: The Head of School is responsible for ensuring all human resources across CHC are in alignment with the culture expected of staff. The Human Resources Manager should comply in a Godly and humble manner with all efforts from the Head of School to evaluate, train, equip and develop him/her as a staff member.

Director of School Operations: The Human Resources Manager should partner with the Director of School Operations to ensure that all Payroll inputs are received in a timely and 100% accurate manner and common objectives are achieved, striving for excellence.

Hiring Managers: The Human Resources Manager embodies and exhibits servant leadership in all interactions with school Directors, supporting them in the development and execution of hiring that are in alignment with CHC’s vision, approach, messaging, and branding, ensuring they receive prompt, excellent service.

CHC Leadership: The CHC Leadership consists of the Head of School, Director of Lower School, Director of Upper School, Director of the Preschool and the Academic and Business Leadership Teams. These individuals oversee the school, therefore the Human Resources Manager should comply in a Godly and humble manner striving for a Christ–like relationship in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in Human Resources Management
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certifications required (including Epi Pen, and Blood Borne Pathogens)
