CHC Upper School visits D.C.

Cherry Hills Christian School’s Grade 8 students and Faculty members always have a wonderful time exploring our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. This trip to the East Coast helps our students see in person so many of the places, artifacts and American treasures they have known only from their history textbooks and classroom discussions.

Besides lots of smiles, fun and good food, this big field trip includes a whirlwind of visits. Stops include the African American History Museum; the Bible Museum; The Holocaust Museum; The Smithsonian American History Museum; Mount Vernon; and the Martin Luther King, Jr., Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, World War II, Vietnam War and Korean War memorials.

We also remind our Grade 8 student travelers of the human cost of freedom with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery. This year, our time there culminated with four CHC students presenting a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

We invite you to learn more about CHC’s extraordinary Upper School and the opportunities students have to travel throughout the United States and beyond.
