After receiving a bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a secondary license for teaching, Carey chose to jump into ministry, working with college students around the world through the Christian nonprofit organization CRU. She and her husband and their four children have had the privilege of investing in students from the United States; Russia; and Chile, where they spent 10 years. While living in Chile, Carey also taught high school math and Bible for an international school. That professional experience reignited her love for education in the classroom, so after returning to the United States in 2009, she has taught Bible, mathematics and Spanish.

Carey joined the CHC community in 2019, and her passion is to help students learn to listen to the voice of the Shepherd by studying His words and investing time in their relationship with Him. Carey considers her work at CHC a dream job. When she's not with students, she loves to travel, explore and help others continue to know more about the King. One of her favorite Bible verses: "My sheep listen to my voice;  I know them and they follow me." - John 10: 27
