Kris HollenbackCoordinator of Curriculum and Instruction
Kris grew up in rural Pennsylvania, the second of five siblings -- life experience that helped her know instinctively how to manage a classroom. She has a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, awarded with highest honors from Colorado Christian University; a bachelor's degree in Christian Education with minors in Counseling and Business; and professional teaching licensure from the State of Colorado in Secondary English Language Arts. She also is a certified teacher of Secondary English and Biblical Studies by the Association of Christian Schools International.
Since entering the classroom in 1995, Kris has embraced various roles in educational leadership, including serving as academic department and team leads, a coordinator of curriculum and instruction, and a coordinator of programs showing fellow teachers how to use technology to enhance students' learning experiences. Because of the insights she has gleaned from being a classroom practitioner, Kris is invited to speak at professional conferences around the world.
She has two adult children -- both of whom graduated from CHC and count their years here as invaluable because they learned what it means to be fully His. For Kris, there is no greater joy than seeing her children -- including all of the students she has taught -- grow in their relationship with, and understanding of, God and all He designed them to be. She and her family take advantage of every possible moment to enjoy the outdoors, highly competitive game nights, football and all things Colorado.
Her favorite Bible verses are Ephesians 3:16-20 (New Living Translation): "I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God."
