A Texas native, Melissa served her home state for nearly a decade as a certified Grade 4-8 teacher with specialized certifications in English as a Second Language and Gifted and Talented instruction. She also worked as a school administrative team member, department head and mentor teacher.
In 2017, Melissa moved to Colorado for her husband to attend Denver Seminary. After receiving her Colorado Teaching License, she joined The Lower School Faculty in 2019 -- and she and her husband also added their three children to the CHC Pride.
Melissa says she and her family have fallen in love with Colorado's mountains, weather and lack of mosquitos -- and hope never to leave. Her favorite Bible verse: "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." (Psalm 16:11)
