Nathan Hynum

Music and Spanish Teacher, Grades 6, 7 and 8

Hometown: I was born in Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea to missionary parents. Grew up in the village of Tumung Gain.

Life at glance: I have two beautiful children, Kendyl and Caedon. I met my wife Jamie when I spoke in her Sunday School class while my family was visiting churches supporting their ministry; I think I talked about the huge spiders found in Papua New Guinea! I love God, love kids and love teaching. I love worshipping and have been playing the same guitar since I was 12 years old. It has traveled with me on missions trips to more than 10 countries. I am passionate about Jesus, my family, the Bible and foreign missions.

Teaching Experience: I have had the incredible privilege of teaching in some pretty interesting places. I taught World Religions at La Escuela de Estudios Pastorales (The School of Pastoral Studies) in San Sebastian, Costa Rica; Inductive Bible Study in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; and High School Bible at Sojourn Academy in Costa Rica. Currently, I am an Affiliate Faculty member at Colorado Christian University, where I have taught Bible courses in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies.

Favorite Bible Verse: Pretty much impossible to pick a favorite Bible verse because I have quite a few favorites, but if I have to choose one, I'm going with: "Not that I have already obtained all this or have already been made perfect but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." (Philippians 3:12)
