Tamara Polvogt

Director of The Upper School

Two of Tamara's greatest strengths and joys are equipping and supporting teachers as they instruct children with a biblical worldview and partnering with parents as they train their children in the truth of the Lord.

She is a Denver native who has a master's degree in Educational Administration from The University of Houston-Clear Lake, a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Houston, and a teaching certification in Gifted and Talented Education.

Tamara has extensive experience in school administration, curriculum development, the integration of biblical teaching and academic instruction, and program assessment and evaluation. She arrived at CHC after working as a Middle School Principal in Colorado Springs. Her previous career stops also include a decade of service as Head of Lower School at Second Baptist School in Houston and as a teacher for the Katy, Texas, Independent School District, where she worked as a junior high school English teacher and within the district's Gifted and Talented Education Department.

Yoga, hiking, skiing, reading and visiting her adult children in Texas, Oregon and Virginia fill up Tamara's free time. Her favorite Bible verse: "But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him." - Isaiah 53:5-6
