Dear Grade 8 Families,

Graduation, the most celebrated event at Cherry Hills Christian School, is just over a month away. Since our school concludes at Grade 8, we consider this graduation as each student’s first significant milestone. As the end of Middle School approaches, many students are experiencing mixed emotions.

Graduation Dinner & Parent Blessing

One of the highlights of the festivities is the “Parent Blessing.” This year, after dinner, families will have time for family prayer and blessing dedicated to the graduate.

We invite you to offer additional praise for your student through a parent-generated “Family Blessing.” This document should be a positive message to your child, encouraging them as they face the future.

Instructions:

  • Do not share the blessing with your graduate before the ceremony.
  • You may place your letter in an envelope, use special stationery, or put it in a card.
  • Be prepared to present the letter at the designated Parent Blessing time after dinner, which will be announced from the stage.
  • You may choose to read your blessing or save it for another personal family time.

Suggestions for Your Blessing

  • Recognize a special talent your child has
  • Highlight a challenge your child has overcome in the last three years
  • Confirm a dream or hope your child often voices
  • Share a scripture as a promise for their future
  • Offer your own support for their future

This blessing is personal and can be written by one or both parents, additional family members, or a significant friend. It is meant to affirm your son/daughter as a beloved child of God and express your love and belief in them on this special day. If needed, separate letters are welcome.
