STUDENT LIFE

Spiritual Growth

At Cherry Hills Christian, we strive to provide an environment that allows our students and families to be saturated (or immersed) in God’s word and love. From the smiles that greet you upon your arrival, worship music filling the air, to scripture covering the walls, we desire for our students to be surrounded with reminders that they are fully known, loved, and His.

We are intentional about students experiencing an active connection to God throughout their day in several key areas.

Relationships

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:30-31

Every member of our team is in love with Jesus and wants to reflect Him to our students. From knowing your student’s interests, attending sporting events, and caring about their success with schoolwork and in their social and emotional life, they are devoted to partnering with your family and knowing your student fully.

Learning

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17

From Kindergarten through Grade 8, students experience Bible class daily with a goal that they fall in love with God’s Word and discover that it transforms them heart, soul, and mind for their whole lives.

Our Lower School students learn foundational biblical knowledge as they explore their identity in Christ. They explore the entire scriptural narrative of Creation, The Fall, Redemption, and Restoration.

In Middle School, students dive deeper as they journey through the Old and New Testaments. We create opportunities for them to grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus as they are understanding that He is who He claimed to be: The Son of God who came to seek and save the lost.

Disciplines

“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.”

Deuteronomy 11:18-19

Students are introduced in age-appropriate ways to habits that promote personal spiritual growth, such as scripture memory, journaling, gratitude, worship, and prayer. Our desire is that students are developing the skills and passion to have a vibrant daily relationship with God.

Chapel

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Psalm 118:105

Community. Student Life at CHC is all about community working together. A community of parents, teachers, administrators and coaches gathering together to pour into students’ heart, soul, mind and strength so that they can discover and develop how God has designed them uniquely.

Life Groups

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11

All Grade 6 – 8 students are part of a single-sex small group led by a Middle School faculty member. These small groups meet twice weekly so that students can foster a mentor relationship with a teacher and have a safe place to share prayer requests, connect and find accountability. Life Group discussions are guided by CHC-developed resources and cover topics raised in Chapel and deemed of interest to the group’s members.

Mission Trips & Outreach

“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Mark 16:15

Serving others through mission work is a cornerstone program for our students. Lower School students adopt a population group such as the elderly, veterans, and first responders to serve throughout the year. Our Middle School students fan out across the Denver Metro area twice a year to be the hands and feet for Jesus in our community.

In the Spring, our Middle School students also participate in extended Mission Trips to other states and out of the country. These trips take our students out of their comfort zone to provide a new perspective and allow them to grow in their relationship with God in new ways.
