NEW FAMILY ORIENTATION

Friday, August 14 | 8:30-11:30 am

Cherry Hills Community Church Atrium (enter through the church lobby)

We are excited to welcome new families and provide opportunities to meet our staff, learn about the school year ahead, and connect with other CHC families before school begins.

Preschool & Lower School Families

Attendance is required for all families new to CHC. At least one parent must attend. This session is for parents only. Students should not attend. Childcare will not be provided.

Middle School Families: “Lead Like a Lion”

Attendance is required for:

  • All incoming Grade 6 students (new and returning to CHC)
  • All students in Grades 7–8 who are new to CHC
  • At least one parent

Middle School students will participate in a special “Lead Like a Lion” orientation experience alongside their parents.

Please join us for Worship and Welcome with Cherry Hills Community Church! We will sit together in Section E and then have lunch after service. It is a great time to meet other new families and experience all CHCC has to offer! Please RSVP here.

MEET & GREET | PRESCHOOL – GRADE 8

Meet & Greet is your one-stop event to get ready for school! It’s a great opportunity for your child to meet their teacher, explore their classroom, and start making new friends. This is a mandatory event for all Preschool through Grade 8 CHC families. Lower & Middle School students need to be in a dress code shirt for student pictures.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL & CONVOCATION

Wednesday, August 19 | 8:45 am | CHCC Worship Center

On the first day of school, Lower and Middle School students will attend Convocation. Convocation is a special gathering with worship, student involvement, and dedication as we commit the school year to Christ. Head of School, Dr. Davis, will introduce the spiritual theme for the year, setting the tone of growth as disciples of Christ. Parents are invited.

Kindergarten: Parents and students will begin their day together at Convocation. After the service, both parents and students will proceed to their classrooms for a special Kindergarten tradition.

Grades 1-8: Students will begin the day in their classrooms, then proceed to the Worship Center to sit with their class for the service.

CHC DADS CLUB | WATCHMEN

The mission of the Watchmen group is to encourage, equip, and connect CHC dads to grow spiritually, serve our community, and lead intentionally at home.

Lower School families can also purchase the full school supplies kit through School Tool Box. If you have any questions, please contact Kristi Swartz, Dean of Academics, Lower School. NOTE: Middle School can not purchase school supplies from School Tool Box this year. 

STUDENT HEALTH INFORMATION

Families can log in to the Magnus Health Portal to complete or update required health information for the 2026–27 school year. Watch for email notifications from Magnus with information about your student’s requirements. Information must be submitted no later than Monday, August 3.

MIDDLE SCHOOL | ELECTIVES SELECTION

Students have the opportunity to select a minimum of 3 and up to 6 electives, depending on whether courses are year-long or semester-long offerings. Please review the electives catalogselect their top choices on this form, scan and email to Sean Kavanaugh, Dean of Students, Middle School.

MIDDLE SCHOOL | SUMMER READING REQUIREMENTS

Over the summer, students in Grades 6-8 will be required to read two books, one from the provided list and one of their choosing.  Please see the details for each grade.

MIDDLE SCHOOL | ADVANCED MATH ASSESSMENT

Our goal is to place each student in the math course where they will develop the strongest possible mathematical foundation while experiencing an appropriate level of challenge. Math placement is reviewed annually and may change based on student progress and overall academic profile.


If you would like your child considered for advanced math placement, please email the Dean of Academics, Sean Kavanaugh skavanaugh@chclions.org to make arrangements to have your child assessed.
