Parent Connect at Cherry Hills Christian School

As a parent at Cherry Hills Christian School, you are a vital part of the Parent Connect community—a parent-led group dedicated to fostering fellowship and connection throughout the year. Parent Connect organizes a variety of community events and initiatives that support and celebrate our school family. These include quarterly Parent Connect meetings, the annual Book Fair, teacher appreciation efforts, missions involvement, room parent support, and Parents in Prayer and Care. Each opportunity is designed to strengthen relationships, encourage service, and build a vibrant, Christ-centered community.

Meet The Parent Connect Leadership Team

Mackenzie Brucker

Mackenzie and her family relocated from the Northwest to Colorado a few years ago without any prior connections in the area. CHC has played a pivotal role in helping the Bruckers establish a meaningful community. Mackenzie and her husband Scott, have two daughters, in grades 3 and 4. The relationships fostered through CHC have exceeded their expectations, offering a supportive faith community and invaluable connections for the entire family. Volunteering at the school has brought immense joy and satisfaction to their lives, and they eagerly anticipate the exciting opportunities for their children and the entire CHC community this year. Beyond school, they enjoy game nights, sharing meals with friends, and embracing the great outdoors to bask in the Colorado sunshine.

Tara Kempke

Tara and her husband, Lucas, have 2 daughters at CHC, Brooke (Grade 2) and Bridget (Kindergarten). Their family moved to Colorado 3 years ago from Texas. Having grown up in Colorado as a member of Cherry Hills Community Church, it has been such a wonderful full circle moment for Tara to have Brooke and Bridget attend CHC. The biggest blessing over the last few years has been the meaningful friendships and like-minded community their entire family has found at CHC! Tara absolutely loves serving at the school and has found so much joy getting to know and support the staff, teachers and students. She is so excited to join Parent Connect this year and looks forward to all the amazing things God has in store!

Ashley McKinley

Ashley and her family relocated to Highlands Ranch from the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area. She and her husband Gavin have two daughters, Sydney in Grade 5 and Margaret in Grade 2. Originally from West Texas, Ashley and Gavin have been delighted to introduce their daughters to the beauty of their new home in the United States. The warm and friendly welcome they received in Colorado, especially at CHC, was a pleasant surprise for their family. They aim to extend this kindness by assisting new families in adjusting to the school and the area. The Christian education and nurturing atmosphere at CHC have deepened their faith in God and strengthened their family bond. Ashley is excited about contributing to the Parent Connect team and witnessing the impact of God’s work at Cherry Hills Christian School this year!

Marisa Weidner

Marisa and her husband, Eric, moved from Southern California to Colorado in 2019, feeling called by the Lord to step out in faith. As soon as they said yes, doors opened clearly, confirming it was the right move. They have two boys—Lucas (14), now a freshman at Valor, and Collin (12), a 7th grader.

Just six months after relocating, the pandemic hit. When public school no longer felt like the right fit, they found their way to CHC—and it quickly became home. Over the past four years, their family has grown in faith and built lasting friendships. Marisa loves serving at CHC, living out her faith and connecting with other families.

She’s excited to be part of the Parent Connect Executive Board and looks forward to supporting the CHC community however she can. Her greatest joy has been watching Lucas and Collin thrive—growing in their love for the Lord, making strong friendships, and discovering the joy of serving others. Most days, you’ll find them cheering on Collin at the baseball field or supporting Lucas on the volleyball court!
